In Saturday's non-league contest, the host Murrah Mustangs basketball team scored a big 67-23 triumph over the Hillcrest Christian Cougars.

The Mustangs (4-11) will now prepare for their contest against Tupelo (Tupelo, MS). The Golden Wave go into the 7A Region 2 contest with a 10-3 record.

In their next game, the Cougars confront the Porter's Chapel Academy Eagles (Vicksburg, MS) in a MAIS 3A District 4 contest, on Tuesday, January 7. Hillcrest Christian will attempt to better on its 8-7 season record.
