South Dakota High School Basketball - Mitchell holds off Orono
December 28, 2024: Mitchell, SD 57301 The Mitchell Kernels basketball team scored 61 points and limited the visiting Orono Spartans to 60 in the Kernels non-league triumph on Saturday.
The Kernels now possess a 4-0 record. They play next when they host Orlando Christian Prep for a non-league game on Monday, December 30. Mitchell will confront a Warriors team coming off a 47-38 non-league loss to Harrisburg (Harrisburg, SD). The Warriors record now stands at 4-8.
With the loss, Orono falls to 5-2 on the campaign. The Spartans host Hopkins (Minnetonka, MN) to confront the Royals in a non-league game on Friday, January 3. The Royals go into the game with a record of 7-0. Hopkins won 93-45 in their recent non-league game against Columbia Heights (Columbia Heights, MN)
