The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Panther Creek Catamounts (Cary, NC) and the host Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC), observed Panther Creek's basketball team edge Watauga by a score of 71-69.

The Catamounts (8-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Green Hope (Cary, NC). The Falcons come into the 4A Southeast Wake challenge with a 7-6 record. In their last challenge, Green Hope was tipped by West Forsyth (Clemmons, NC), 72-44, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Pioneers battle the A.C. Reynolds Rockets (Asheville, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, January 2. Watauga will attempt to improve on its 7-3 season record.
