The Brandon Bulldogs basketball squad (Brandon, MS), was nudged 40-38 in Saturday's non-league battle with the visiting Canton Tigers (Canton, MS)

With the victory, Canton advances its record to 13-5 on the year. The Tigers travel to Greenville (Greenville, MS) to meet the Hornets in a 5A Region 2 battle on Friday, January 3. The Hornets enter the battle with a record of 10-5. Greenville lost 59-46 in their recent non-league battle against Jefferson Davis County (Bassfield, MS)

The Bulldogs now own a 6-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Northwest Rankin for a 7A Region 3 battle on Friday, January 3. Brandon will meet a Cougars squad coming off a 72-49 non-league win over Pontotoc (Pontotoc, MS). The Cougars record now stands at 13-4.
