In Saturday's non-league contest, the visiting Needles Mustangs basketball team scored a big 54-30 win over the Durango Trailblazers.

The Mustangs (8-3) will now prepare for their contest against Laughlin (Laughlin, NV). The Cougars come into the 2A Southern contest with a 1-3 record. In their last contest, Laughlin was trounced by White Pine (Ely, NV), 64-24, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Trailblazers battle the Foothill Falcons (Henderson, NV) in a 4A Desert contest, on Wednesday, January 8. Durango will attempt to better on its 3-10 season record.
