Texas High School Basketball - Floydada holds off Saint Jo
December 28, 2024: Saint Jo, TX 76265 The Floydada Whirlwinds basketball team scored 62 points and limited the host Saint Jo Panthers to 61 in the Whirlwinds non-league triumph on Saturday.
The Whirlwinds now have a 11-8 record. They play next when they host New Home for a 2A Region I District 4 game on Friday, January 3. Floydada will confront a Leopards team coming off a 69-38 league win over Tahoka (Tahoka, TX). The Leopards record now stands at 17-6.
With the loss, Saint Jo falls to 13-5 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Prairie Valley (Nocona, TX) to confront the Bulldogs in a 1A Region III District 18 game on Friday, January 3. The Bulldogs go into the game with a record of 0-1. Prairie Valley lost 44-18 in their recent non-league game against Petrolia (Petrolia, TX)
