Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Freedom Area triumphant over Monessen
December 28, 2024: Monessen, PA 15062 The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Freedom Area Bulldogs (Freedom, PA) and the host Monessen Greyhounds (Monessen, PA), observed Freedom Area's basketball team overwhelm Monessen by a score of 59-26.
The Bulldogs (2-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Shenango (New Castle, PA). The Wildcats come into the WPIAL 2A 1 challenge with a 1-3 record. In their last challenge, Shenango was routed by Ellwood City (Ellwood City, PA), 59-23, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Greyhounds battle the West Greene Pioneers (Waynesburg, PA) in a WPIAL 1A 2 challenge, on Thursday, January 2. Monessen will attempt to improve on its 3-4 season record. The Pioneers come into the challenge with a 6-2 record after their 63-29 league win over Jefferson-Morgan (Jefferson, PA).
