The Hickory Hornets basketball squad (Hermitage, PA), was crushed 74-19 in Saturday's non-league battle with the visiting Neshannock Lancers (New Castle, PA)

With the victory, Neshannock advances its record to 7-2 on the year. The Lancers host Beaver Falls (Beaver Falls, PA) to meet the Tigers in a WPIAL 3A 1 battle on Monday, December 30. The Tigers enter the battle with a record of 3-1. Beaver Falls won 48-41 in their recent league battle against Riverside (Ellwood City, PA)

The Hornets now own a 2-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Fairview for a non-league battle on Saturday, January 4. Hickory will meet a Tigers squad coming off a 39-29 non-league win over Seneca (Erie, PA). The Tigers record now stands at 6-2.
