The Kearney Catholic Stars basketball team scored 55 points and held the visiting Amherst Broncos to 41 in the Stars non-league triumph on Wednesday.

The Stars now sport a 8-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host York for a non-league contest on Thursday, December 30. Kearney Catholic will battle a Dukes team coming off a 47-40 non-league win over St. Cecilia (Hastings, NE). The Dukes record now stands at 4-3.

The Broncos (7-1) will now prepare for their contest against Wood River (Wood River, NE). The Eagles enter the non-league contest with a 7-2 record. In their last contest, Wood River was defeated by Mead (Mead, NE), 47-41, in a non-league contest.
