Mt. Zion Braves (Mt. Zion, IL) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Sterling Golden Warriors (Sterling, IL), 68-65 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Mt. Zion upgrades its record to 10-3 on the season. The Braves host St. Thomas More (Champaign, IL) to play the Sabers in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 4. The Sabers go into the bout with a record of 5-4.

Next up, the Golden Warriors play the Geneseo Maple Leafs (Geneseo, IL) in a Western Big 6 bout, on Friday, January 7. Sterling will attempt to upgrade on its 4-6 season record.
