December 29, 2021: Cherokee, NC 28719 Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the North Buncombe Black Hawks (Weaverville, NC) and the host Cherokee Braves (Cherokee, NC), saw North Buncombe's basketball squad hold off Cherokee by a tally of 74-67.
With the victory, North Buncombe improves its record to 5-3 on the campaign. The Black Hawks travel to East Rutherford (Forest City, NC) to confront the Cavaliers in a non-league challenge on Thursday, December 30. The Cavaliers come into the challenge with a record of 9-0. East Rutherford won 51-47 in their recent non-league challenge against A.C. Reynolds (Asheville, NC)
Next up, the Braves confront the A.C. Reynolds Rockets (Asheville, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, December 30. Cherokee will attempt to improve on its 7-3 season record. The Rockets come into the challenge with a 8-2 record after their 51-47 non-league loss to East Rutherford (Forest City, NC).
