Montgomery Bears (Montgomery, TX) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host The Woodlands Highlanders (The Woodlands, TX), 43-40 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Montgomery upgrades its record to 20-3 on the season. The Bears host Dayton (Dayton, TX) to clash with the Broncos in a 5A Region III District 20 bout on Tuesday, January 4. The Broncos go into the bout with a record of 4-11. Dayton lost 85-35 in their recent non-league bout against Clear Brook (Friendswood, TX)

Next up, the Highlanders clash with the MacArthur Generals (Houston, TX) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 31. The Woodlands will attempt to upgrade on its 8-12 season record. The Generals go into the bout with a 11-8 record after their 41-20 non-league loss to Spring (Spring, TX).
