Austintown-Fitch Falcons (Youngstown, OH) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Walsh Jesuit Warriors (Cuyahoga Falls, OH), 43-41 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Austintown-Fitch upgrades its record to 5-3 on the campaign. The Falcons travel to Howland (Warren, OH) to encounter the Tigers in a All-American test on Monday, January 2. The Tigers go into the test with a record of 6-2. Howland won 48-34 in their recent non-league test against Brookfield (Brookfield, OH)

The Warriors now own a 6-2 record. They play next when they travel to Medina for a non-league test on Tuesday, January 3. Walsh Jesuit will encounter a Battling Bees squad coming off a 61-21 non-league win over Wells (Chicago, IL). The Battling Bees record now stands at 7-3.
