Beaver Bobcats (Beaver, PA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Upper St. Clair Panthers (Upper St. Clair, PA), 59-45 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Beaver upgrades its record to 8-1 on the season. The Bobcats host Blackhawk (Beaver Falls, PA) to play the Cougars in a WPIAL 4A 2 bout on Friday, January 6. The Cougars go into the bout with a record of 4-3. Blackhawk won 52-42 in their recent non-league bout against Sto-Rox (McKees Rocks, PA)

Next up, the Panthers play the Hempfield Area Spartans (Greensburg, PA) in a WPIAL 6A 2 bout, on Tuesday, January 3. Upper St. Clair will attempt to upgrade on its 5-5 season record.
