JW North Huskies (Riverside, CA) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Chaparral Pumas (Temecula, CA), 61-47 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, JW North upgrades its record to 10-7 on the campaign. The Huskies travel to Rancho Verde (Moreno Valley, CA) to play the Mustangs in a Ivy bout on Tuesday, January 3. The Mustangs come into the bout with a record of 10-6. Rancho Verde won 65-34 in their recent non-league bout against Birmingham (Lake Balboa, CA)

Next up, the Pumas play the Murrieta Valley Nighthawks (Murrieta, CA) in a Southwestern bout, on Wednesday, January 4. Chaparral will attempt to upgrade on its 7-8 season record. The Nighthawks come into the bout with a 6-11 record after their 65-57 non-league win over Shadow Hills (Indio, CA).
