Virginia High School Basketball - Smithfield holds off Charlottesville
December 29, 2022: Smithfield, VA 23430 Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Smithfield Packers (Smithfield, VA) and the visiting Charlottesville Black Knights (Charlottesville, VA), saw Smithfield's basketball squad hold off Charlottesville by a tally of 59-56.
With the victory, Smithfield improves its record to 7-3 on the campaign. The Packers host Grafton (Yorktown, VA) to confront the Clippers in a Bay Rivers challenge on Wednesday, January 4. The Clippers come into the challenge with a record of 6-3. Grafton won 42-30 in their recent non-league challenge against Kempsville (Virginia Beach, VA)
Next up, the Black Knights confront the Fluvanna County Flying Flucos (Palmyra, VA) in a Jefferson challenge, on Tuesday, January 3. Charlottesville will attempt to improve on its 4-5 season record. The Flying Flucos come into the challenge with a 6-2 record after their 62-49 non-league win over William Monroe (Stanardsville, VA).
