The West Valley Mustangs (Hemet, CA) basketball knocked off the visiting Covina Colts (Covina, CA), 45-35 in Thursday's non-league test.

The Mustangs (3-10) will now prepare for their test against Liberty (Winchester, CA). The Bison go into the Mountain Pass test with a 9-2 record. In their last test, Liberty went down by Canyon Springs (Moreno Valley, CA), 68-61, in a non-league test.

The Colts now own a 12-8 record. They play next when they travel to Charter Oak for a Valle Vista test on Tuesday, January 10. Covina will encounter a Chargers squad coming off a 66-51 non-league loss to Chino Hills (Chino Hills, CA). The Chargers record now stands at 8-12.
