In Thursday's non-league outing, the Griffin Bears (Griffin, GA) basketball squad beat the visiting First Preparatory Christian Academy Highlanders (Hinesville, GA), by a margin of 86-69.

The Bears (9-6) will now prepare for their outing against Baldwin (Milledgeville, GA). The Braves go into the AAAA Region 2 outing with a 7-3 record. In their last outing, Baldwin was topped by Lee County (Leesburg, GA), 59-38, in a non-league outing.

The Highlanders now own a 7-3 record. They play next when they travel to Savannah Classical Academy for a non-league outing on Friday, January 6. First Preparatory Christian Academy will clash with a Spartans squad coming off a 52-34 non-league win over Step of Faith Christian Academy (Ridgeland, SC). The Spartans record now stands at 2-5.
