Ohio High School Basketball - Martins Ferry tops Toronto
December 29, 2022: Toronto, OH 43964 Martins Ferry Purple Riders (Martins Ferry, OH) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Toronto Red Knights (Toronto, OH), 63-54 in a league bout.
With the victory, Martins Ferry upgrades its record to 7-0 on the campaign. The Purple Riders host Monroe Central (Woodsfield, OH) to play the Seminoles in a non-league bout on Friday, December 30. The Seminoles come into the bout with a record of 8-2. Monroe Central won 65-63 in their recent league bout against Shadyside (Shadyside, OH)
Next up, the Red Knights play the Wellsville Tigers (Wellsville, OH) in a Eastern Ohio bout, on Saturday, January 7. Toronto will attempt to upgrade on its 6-3 season record.
