Nelson (Happy Valley, OR) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting North Medford Black Tornado (Medford, OR), 61-54 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Nelson upgrades its record to 2-5 on the season.

Next up, the Black Tornado clash with the Lakeridge Pacers (Lake Oswego, OR) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 6. North Medford will attempt to upgrade on its 1-8 season record. The Pacers go into the bout with a 5-3 record after their 43-42 non-league loss to Southridge (Beaverton, OR).
