Mississippi High School Basketball - Wayne County overwhelmed by New Hope
December 29, 2022: Columbus, MS 39702 The New Hope Trojans basketball team scored 60 points and restricted the visiting Wayne County War Eagles to 34 in the Trojans non-league victory on Thursday.
The Trojans now sport a 7-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Center Hill for a non-league contest on Friday, December 30. New Hope will battle a Mustangs team coming off a 57-39 non-league loss to Hartfield Academy (Flowood, MS). The Mustangs record now stands at 2-9.
The War Eagles (2-2) will now prepare for their contest against Laurel (Laurel, MS). The Golden Tornadoes come into the 5A Region 6 contest with a 2-2 record.
