Oregon High School Basketball - Taft ripped by Newport
December 29, 2022: Newport, OR 97365 The Newport Cubs basketball team scored 70 points and held the visiting Taft Tigers to 34 in the Cubs non-league triumph on Thursday.
The Cubs now sport a 4-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Seaside for a non-league contest on Friday, December 30. Newport will battle a Seagulls team coming off a 60-41 non-league win over Catlin Gabel (Portland, OR). The Seagulls record now stands at 6-2.
The Tigers (2-5) will now prepare for their contest against Dayton (Dayton, OR). The Pirates enter the 3A PacWest contest with a 9-1 record. In their last contest, Dayton triumphed over Western Christian (Salem, OR), 46-31, in a non-league contest.
