Texas High School Basketball - Sam Houston holds off Spruce
December 29, 2022: Dallas, TX 75217 Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Sam Houston Texans (Arlington, TX) and the host Spruce Timberwolves (Dallas, TX), saw Sam Houston's basketball squad hold off Spruce by a tally of 56-55.
With the victory, Sam Houston improves its record to 16-6 on the campaign. The Texans travel to Crandall (Crandall, TX) to confront the Pirates in a non-league challenge on Friday, December 30. The Pirates come into the challenge with a record of 14-8. Crandall won 54-41 in their recent non-league challenge against Skyline (Dallas, TX)
Next up, the Timberwolves confront the Poteet Pirates (Mesquite, TX) in a 5A Region II District 12 challenge, on Tuesday, January 3. Spruce will attempt to improve on its 2-9 season record. The Pirates come into the challenge with a 5-13 record after their 49-36 non-league loss to Ryan (Denton, TX).
