Union City Chargers (Union City, MI) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host St. Philip Catholic Central Fighting Tigers (Battle Creek, MI), 59-27 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Union City upgrades its record to 4-1 on the season. The Chargers host Quincy (Quincy, MI) to play the Orioles in a Big 8 bout on Thursday, January 5. The Orioles go into the bout with a record of 4-2. Quincy won 51-42 in their recent non-league bout against Maple Valley (Vermontville, MI)

Next up, the Fighting Tigers play the Camden-Frontier Redskins (Camden, MI) in a Southern Central bout, on Tuesday, January 10. St. Philip Catholic Central will attempt to upgrade on its 1-4 season record.
