Mississippi High School Basketball - West Lowndes overwhelms Winston Academy
December 29, 2022: Columbus, MS 39701 Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the West Lowndes Panthers (Columbus, MS) and the visiting Winston Academy Patriots (Louisville, MS), saw West Lowndes's basketball squad wallop Winston Academy by a count of 79-42.
With the victory, West Lowndes upgrades its record to 8-7 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to New Hope (Columbus, MS) to play the Trojans in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, January 4. The Trojans come into the challenge with a record of 8-5. New Hope won 71-49 in their recent non-league challenge against Center Hill (Olive Branch, MS)
Next up, the Patriots play the Leake Academy Rebels (Madden, MS) in a MAIS 5A District 2 challenge, on Tuesday, January 3. Winston Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 2-3 season record. The Rebels come into the challenge with a 12-8 record after their 49-39 non-league win over Canton Academy (Canton, MS).
