Elk Grove Thundering Herd (Elk Grove, CA) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Pitman Pride (Turlock, CA), 46-41 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Elk Grove upgrades its record to 6-7 on the campaign. The Thundering Herd travel to Franklin (Elk Grove, CA) to play the Wildcats in a bout on Wednesday, January 4. The Wildcats come into the bout with a record of 9-7. Franklin won 48-34 in their recent non-league bout against Pleasant Valley (Chico, CA)
