Texas High School Basketball - Merkel crushes Alpine
December 29, 2022: Merkel, TX 79536 Merkel Badgers (Merkel, TX) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Alpine Bucks (Alpine, TX), 83-22 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Merkel upgrades its record to 16-4 on the season. The Badgers travel to Veribest (Veribest, TX) to play the Falcons in a non-league bout on Thursday, December 29. The Falcons go into the bout with a record of 13-2. Veribest lost 44-34 in their recent non-league bout against Hermleigh (Hermleigh, TX)
Next up, the Bucks play the Kress Kangaroos (Kress, TX) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 30. Alpine will attempt to upgrade on its 5-10 season record. The Kangaroos go into the bout with a 3-5 record after their 45-41 non-league loss to All Saints Episcopal School (Lubbock, TX).
