The Americas Trail Blazers basketball team scored 53 points and held the visiting Stratford Elks to 35 in the Trail Blazers non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Trail Blazers now sport a 15-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Socorro for a 6A Region I District 1 contest on Friday, January 6.

The Elks (12-7) will now prepare for their contest against Dalhart (Dalhart, TX). The Wolves enter the non-league contest with a 7-3 record. In their last contest, Dalhart was outscored by Lubbock Christian (Lubbock, TX), 49-48, in a non-league contest.
