Utah High School Basketball - Needles tops Dixie

December 29, 2022: St. George, UT 84770

Needles Mustangs (Needles, CA) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Dixie Flyers (St. George, UT), 37-29 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Needles upgrades its record to 8-5 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Lake Mead Academy (Henderson, NV) to play the Eagles in a 2A Southern bout on Tuesday, January 3. The Eagles come into the bout with a record of 6-3. Lake Mead Academy lost 41-40 in their recent league bout against The Meadows School (Las Vegas, NV)

Next up, the Flyers play the Hurricane Tigers (Hurricane, UT) in a 4A Region 10 bout, on Tuesday, January 3. Dixie will attempt to upgrade on its 6-4 season record. The Tigers come into the bout with a 1-6 record after their 64-39 non-league loss to Sky View (Smithfield, UT).
