Illinois High School Basketball - Evanston thwarts Alton
December 29, 2023: Evanston, IL 60201 The Evanston Wildkits (Evanston, IL) basketball knocked off the visiting Alton Redbirds (Alton, IL), 43-31 in Friday's non-league test.
The Wildkits (10-4) will now prepare for their test against Glenbrook South (Glenview, IL). The Titans go into the Central Suburban - South test with a 13-3 record. In their last test, Glenbrook South notched a victory over St. Laurence (Burbank, IL), 60-35, in a non-league test.
The Redbirds now own a 8-5 record. They play next when they travel to Champaign Central for a non-league test on Saturday, December 30. Alton will encounter a Maroons squad coming off a 69-48 non-league loss to Centralia (Centralia, IL). The Maroons record now stands at 8-7.
