Tennessee High School Basketball - Yazoo City holds off Baylor
December 29, 2023: Chattanooga, TN 37405 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Yazoo City Indians (Yazoo City, MS) and the host Baylor Red Raiders (Chattanooga, TN), saw Yazoo City's basketball squad hold off Baylor by a tally of 45-40.
With the victory, Yazoo City improves its record to 14-2 on the campaign. The Indians host Greenville (Greenville, MS) to confront the Hornets in a 5A Region 2 challenge on Tuesday, January 2. The Hornets come into the challenge with a record of 6-6.
Next up, the Red Raiders confront the Red Bank Lions (Chattanooga, TN) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 2. Baylor will attempt to improve on its 9-3 season record. The Lions come into the challenge with a 12-4 record after their 63-57 non-league loss to Signal Mountain (Signal Mountain, TN).
