Alabama High School Basketball - Central tops Columbia
December 29, 2023: Phenix City, AL 36870 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Central Red Devils (Phenix City, AL) and the visiting Columbia Eagles (Decatur, GA), saw Central's basketball squad knock off Columbia by a count of 86-71.
With the victory, Central upgrades its record to 17-5 on the campaign. The Red Devils travel to Auburn (Auburn, AL) to play the Tigers in a 7A Area 4 challenge on Friday, January 5. The Tigers come into the challenge with a record of 17-3.
Next up, the Eagles play the McNair Mustangs (Atlanta, GA) in a AA Region 5 challenge, on Friday, January 5. Columbia will attempt to upgrade on its 12-1 season record. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a 1-11 record after their 86-77 non-league loss to Salem (Conyers, GA).
