Texas High School Basketball - Edgewood tipped by Hawkins

The Hawkins Hawks basketball team scored 56 points and held the host Edgewood Bulldogs to 51 in the Hawks non-league triumph on Friday.

The Hawks now sport a 17-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host McLeod for a 2A Region III District 21 contest on Tuesday, January 2. Hawkins will meet a Longhorns team coming off a 49-45 non-league loss to Tom Bean (Tom Bean, TX). The Longhorns record now stands at 24-1.

The Bulldogs (12-8) will now prepare for their contest against Lone Oak (Lone Oak, TX). The Buffaloes enter the 3A Region II District 12 contest with a 12-7 record. In their last contest, Lone Oak nudged Gilmer (Gilmer, TX), 57-35, in a non-league contest.
