The Pineywoods Community Academy Timberwolves (Lufkin, TX) basketball nipped the visiting Groveton Indians (Groveton, TX), 46-40 in Friday's non-league test.

The Timberwolves (9-10) will now prepare for their test against Huntington (Huntington, TX). The Red Devils go into the 3A Region III District 21 test with a 4-14 record. In their last test, Huntington was tipped by La Marque (La Marque, TX), 42-38, in a non-league test.
