The Highland Hawks (Gilbert, AZ) basketball nipped the visiting Liberty Lions (Peoria, AZ), 57-55 in Friday's non-league test.

The Hawks (10-3) will now prepare for their test against Sunnyslope (Phoenix, AZ). The Vikings go into the non-league test with a 8-4 record. In their last test, Sunnyslope got by Heritage Christian (Northridge, CA), 74-62, in a non-league test.

The Lions now own a 9-8 record. They play next when they travel to Mountain Ridge for a 6A Desert Valley test on Friday, January 12.
