Iowa Colony Pioneers (Iowa Colony, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Kashmere Fighting Rams (Houston, TX), 64-54 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Iowa Colony upgrades its record to 10-13 on the season. The Pioneers travel to La Marque (La Marque, TX) to clash with the Cougars in a 4A Region IV District 26 bout on Tuesday, January 2. The Cougars go into the bout with a record of 9-14. La Marque won 42-41 in their recent non-league bout against Franklin (Franklin, TX)

Next up, the Fighting Rams clash with the North Forest Bulldogs (Houston, TX) in a 4A Region III District 21 bout, on Monday, January 8. Kashmere will attempt to upgrade on its 6-9 season record.
