Texas High School Basketball - Lake Creek nips Vista Ridge

Lake Creek Lions (Montgomery, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Vista Ridge Rangers (Cedar Park, TX), 58-56 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Lake Creek upgrades its record to 15-6 on the campaign. The Lions host Brenham (Brenham, TX) to play the Cubs in a 5A Region III District 21 bout on Tuesday, January 2. The Cubs come into the bout with a record of 17-2. Brenham won 72-41 in their recent non-league bout against King (Kingsville, TX)

Next up, the Rangers play the Round Rock Westwood Warriors (Austin, TX) in a 6A Region IV District 25 bout, on Friday, January 5. Vista Ridge will attempt to upgrade on its 6-15 season record. The Warriors come into the bout with a 14-7 record after their 72-37 non-league win over Brentwood Christian (Austin, TX).
