Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Swain County Maroon Devils (Bryson City, NC) and the visiting Madison Patriots (Marshall, NC), saw Swain County's basketball squad wallop Madison by a tally of 70-44.

With the victory, Swain County improves its record to 8-4 on the campaign. The Maroon Devils host Pisgah (Canton, NC) to play the Bears in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, January 3. The Bears come into the challenge with a record of 9-2. Pisgah won 93-72 in their recent non-league challenge against Erwin (Asheville, NC)

Next up, the Patriots play the NCSSM: Morganton (Morganton, NC) in a 1A/2A Western Highlands challenge, on Wednesday, January 3. Madison will attempt to improve on its 4-7 season record.
