December 29, 2023: Morristown, TN 37813 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Morristown-Hamblen West Trojans (Morristown, TN) and the visiting Rogers Pirates (Florence, AL), saw Morristown-Hamblen West's basketball squad hold off Rogers by a tally of 37-32.
With the victory, Morristown-Hamblen West improves its record to 8-6 on the campaign. The Trojans host Morristown-Hamblen East (Morristown, TN) to confront the Hurricanes in a 4A District 2 challenge on Friday, January 5. The Hurricanes come into the challenge with a record of 14-5. Morristown-Hamblen East won 76-60 in their recent non-league challenge against Cocke County (Newport, TN)
Next up, the Pirates confront the Wilson Warriors (Florence, AL) in a 4A Area 16 challenge, on Tuesday, January 2. Rogers will attempt to improve on its 8-11 season record. The Warriors come into the challenge with a 7-12 record after their 68-46 non-league win over Collinwood (Collinwood, TN).
