The Oxford Wolverines basketball team scored 46 points and held the host Wolcott Eagles to 40 in the Wolverines league triumph on Friday.

The Wolverines now sport a 1-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Nonnewaug for a non-league contest on Wednesday, January 3. Oxford will battle a Chiefs team coming off a 77-63 league loss to Northwestern Regional (Winsted, CT). The Chiefs record now stands at 3-2.

The Eagles (0-4) will now prepare for their contest against Naugatuck (Naugatuck, CT). The Greyhounds enter the Naugatuck Valley contest with a 0-3 record. In their last contest, Naugatuck was nudged by Seymour (Seymour, CT), 71-69, in a league contest.
