In Friday's non-league match, the host Athens Golden Eagles basketball team scored a decisive 57-26 triumph over the Oneonta Redskins.

In their next game, the Golden Eagles meet the Muscle Shoals Trojans (Muscle Shoals, AL) in a 6A Area 15 match, on Friday, January 5. Athens will attempt to better on its 5-10 season record.
