Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Berwyn/Cicero Morton Mustangs (Cicero, IL) and the visiting Manteno Panthers (Manteno, IL), saw Berwyn/Cicero Morton's basketball squad hold off Manteno by a tally of 51-46.

With the victory, Berwyn/Cicero Morton improves its record to 9-5 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Proviso East (Maywood, IL) to confront the Pirates in a West Suburban - Gold challenge on Friday, January 5. The Pirates come into the challenge with a record of 7-10. Proviso East won 30-24 in their recent non-league challenge against Oak Forest (Oak Forest, IL)

Next up, the Panthers confront the Herscher Tigers (Herscher, IL) in a Illinois Central 8 challenge, on Thursday, January 4. Manteno will attempt to improve on its 9-7 season record. The Tigers come into the challenge with a 6-11 record after their 49-20 league loss to Coal City (Coal City, IL).
