Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the East Mecklenburg Eagles (Charlotte, NC) and the host Central Cabarrus Vikings (Concord, NC), saw East Mecklenburg's basketball squad hold off Central Cabarrus by a tally of 38-34.

With the victory, East Mecklenburg improves its record to 4-8 on the campaign. The Eagles host Olympic (Charlotte, NC) to confront the Trojans in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, January 3. The Trojans come into the challenge with a record of 8-3. Olympic lost 30-27 in their recent non-league challenge against Eastside (Gainesville, FL)

Next up, the Vikings confront the Northwest Cabarrus Trojans (Concord, NC) in a 3A South Piedmont challenge, on Wednesday, January 3. Central Cabarrus will attempt to improve on its 6-4 season record. The Trojans come into the challenge with a 7-3 record after their 64-40 non-league win over Mooresville (Mooresville, NC).
