December 29, 2023: East Chicago, IN 46312 East Chicago Central Cardinals (East Chicago, IN) supporters were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting South Bend Riley Wildcats (South Bend, IN), 34-30 in a non-league challenge.
With the victory, East Chicago Central improves its record to 5-7 on the campaign. The Cardinals host Portage (Portage, IN) to confront the Indians in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, January 9. The Indians come into the challenge with a record of 9-7.
Next up, the Wildcats confront the Elkhart Lions (Elkhart, IN) in a Northern Indiana challenge, on Friday, January 5. South Bend Riley will attempt to improve on its 1-12 season record. The Lions come into the challenge with a 8-9 record after their 60-49 non-league loss to Eastern Hancock (Charlottesville, IN).
