Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Franklin Panthers (Franklin, NC) and the visiting Murphy Bulldogs (Murphy, NC), saw Franklin's basketball squad wallop Murphy by a tally of 59-28.

With the victory, Franklin improves its record to 5-5 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Hayesville (Hayesville, NC) to play the Yellowjackets in a non-league challenge on Saturday, December 30. The Yellowjackets come into the challenge with a record of 7-4. Hayesville won 31-17 in their recent non-league challenge against Polk County (Benton, TN)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Hiwassee Dam Eagles (Murphy, NC) in a 1A Smoky Mountain challenge, on Thursday, January 4. Murphy will attempt to improve on its 0-8 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 8-2 record after their 64-49 non-league loss to Mitchell (Bakersville, NC).
