Illinois High School Basketball - Mattoon tops Galesburg
December 29, 2023: Mattoon, IL 61938 Mattoon Greenwave (Mattoon, IL) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Galesburg Silver Streaks (Galesburg, IL), 44-33 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, Mattoon upgrades its record to 13-1 on the campaign. The Greenwave travel to Effingham (Effingham, IL) to play the Flaming Hearts in a non-league bout on Friday, December 29. The Flaming Hearts come into the bout with a record of 12-3. Effingham won 60-22 in their recent non-league bout against Danville (Danville, IL)
Next up, the Silver Streaks play the Sullivan Redskins (Sullivan, IL) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 29. Galesburg will attempt to upgrade on its 17-1 season record. The Redskins come into the bout with a 7-7 record after their 54-38 non-league win over Jacksonville (Jacksonville, IL).
