Izard County Cougars (Brockwell, AR) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Marked Tree Indians (Marked Tree, AR), 60-50 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Izard County upgrades its record to 10-5 on the season. The Cougars travel to Riverside (Lake City, AR) to clash with the Rebels in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 30. The Rebels go into the bout with a record of 14-3. Riverside won 70-47 in their recent non-league bout against Marmaduke (Marmaduke, AR)

Next up, the Indians clash with the Hillcrest Screamin Eagles (Strawberry, AR) in a 1A Region 3 bout, on Tuesday, January 2. Marked Tree will attempt to upgrade on its 11-2 season record. The Screamin Eagles go into the bout with a 11-8 record after their 52-36 non-league loss to Marked Tree (Marked Tree, AR).
