Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Pine-Richland Rams (Gibsonia, PA) and the visiting McDowell Trojans (Erie, PA), saw Pine-Richland's basketball squad hold off McDowell by a tally of 61-56.

With the victory, Pine-Richland improves its record to 1-6 on the campaign. The Rams travel to Hempfield Area (Greensburg, PA) to confront the Spartans in a WPIAL 6A 1 challenge on Wednesday, January 3. The Spartans come into the challenge with a record of 7-2. Hempfield Area won 59-45 in their recent non-league challenge against Plum (Pittsburgh, PA)

Next up, the Trojans confront the Harbor Creek Huskies (Harborcreek, PA) in a District 10 Region 6 challenge, on Thursday, January 4. McDowell will attempt to improve on its 0-8 season record. The Huskies come into the challenge with a 5-1 record after their 45-15 non-league win over Oil City (Oil City, PA).
