Pontotoc Warriors (Pontotoc, MS) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Muscle Shoals Trojans (Muscle Shoals, AL), 52-51 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Pontotoc upgrades its record to 16-1 on the season. The Warriors travel to West Point (West Point, MS) to play the Green Wave in a 5A Region 1 bout on Friday, January 5. The Green Wave go into the bout with a record of 9-4. West Point won 56-22 in their recent non-league game against Noxubee County (Macon, MS)

With the defeat, Muscle Shoals moves to 9-5 on the year. The Trojans host Hazel Green (Hazel Green, AL) to face the Trojans in a non-league game on Tuesday, January 2. The Trojans enter the game with a record of 17-4. Hazel Green won 49-41 in their recent non-league game against Mount Paran Christian (Kennesaw, GA)
