California High School Basketball - Oakwood overwhelms Rio Mesa
December 29, 2023: Oxnard, CA 93036 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Oakwood Owls (North Hollywood, CA) and the host Rio Mesa Spartans (Oxnard, CA), saw Oakwood's basketball squad wallop Rio Mesa by a tally of 60-29.
With the victory, Oakwood improves its record to 11-3 on the campaign. The Owls host Holy Martyrs Armenian (Encino, CA) to confront the Armens in a Liberty challenge on Thursday, January 4. The Armens come into the challenge with a record of 5-11. Holy Martyrs Armenian lost 42-38 in their recent non-league challenge against El Toro (Lake Forest, CA)
Next up, the Spartans confront the Ventura Cougars (Ventura, CA) in a Channel challenge, on Thursday, January 4. Rio Mesa will attempt to improve on its 3-10 season record.
